Fiacre was born in Ireland. He moved to France for solitude. He built a hermitage and an oratory in honor of the Virgin Mary. He kept both a vegetable and herb garden and had a hospice for travelers. He was widely known for his holiness and healing powers.
'Let the rain, rain and the sunshine
And all good things of the earth feed my garden so it may be abundant and good. With joy and gratitude, I celebrate that which God has given. May my garden nourish all who share in its bounty.'
Printed from Lynn Garlick's Originals.
